Terraforming:
First find the planet you want to raise the Terrascore, or T score, of. When you are at the system it will list all the planets in the system and will also show you the condition of each planet with different color rings beside each planets name like this:
Terraforming Guide Th_Ringcolor
Red means the planet is to hot, Blue means it's too cold, Green means it is good and can sustain life and is easy to terraform, White means it is easy to terraform as well but it is still a T0 planet but has a good teperature and just needs its atmosphere fixed.
Fly down to the planet and there will be a map of it in the lower left corner like this
Terraforming Guide Th_Map
Press this buttonTerraforming Guide Th_Mapbutton to switch to the T score map which will look something like this depending on what type of planet you are on;
Terraforming Guide Th_Tscorerings
Next open your terraforming tools tabTerraforming Guide Th_Terraformtab
Here will be all the tools you have for terraforming and will look basically like this
Terraforming Guide Th_Tools
Early on in the game you will not have most of these tools but as you get badges you will unlock them and be able to buy them. The tools themselves will be covered later on.
There are four symbols on the terraforming map, two clouds and two thermometers. There is also a red dot to improve the T score you need to try and get this dot closer to the center of the rings. If it is near the red thermometer you will need to cool the planet down, if it is near the blue you will need to heat it up. If it is near the grey cloud then there is not enough atmosphere and if it is up near the top white cloud it has too much.
Use what ever tools are needed to move the dot to the center of the rings, in this case it needs to be cooled down and more atmosphere. As you use them the dot will start to move and show arrows of where it is going like this;
Terraforming Guide Th_Movingdot
Once the dot enters the first ring it will turn yellow;
Terraforming Guide Th_ImprovedTscore
and become a T1 planet instead of a T0 but it will not stay that way untill you fill out the ecosystem which you can see to the right of the terraforming map
Terraforming Guide Th_Ecosystem
First you will need to put three different types of plants down, a smallTerraforming Guide Th_Smallplant, mediumTerraforming Guide Th_Mediumplant, and largeTerraforming Guide Th_Largeplant plant.
Terraforming Guide Th_Plantsputdown
Onec this is done you need to put down two different species of hebivoresTerraforming Guide Th_Herbivorepic
Terraforming Guide Th_Herbivores
Then either a Carnivore or an OmnivoreTerraforming Guide Th_Omnipic
Terraforming Guide Th_Omnivore
Then the ring will turn Green and the T score will not go back down.

Terraforming Guide Th_Completeecosystem
Once you have finished you can keep terraforming to get the dot closer to the middle and increase the T score more using the same method however you will need all new species for each plant and animal

Terraforming Guide Th_Terraformscreen
As you improve the T score you will be able to add more colonies and be able to build more turrets or buildings in your colonies

Empire Relations:
If you raise the T Score of another empires planet you will get relation points with them for "Helping our planet" which can be helpful for allying with them. Oppositly if you lower the T Score you will get negative points with them for "Hurting our planet" which may cause them to go to war with you.
This is true for every empire other then the Grox who can only live on T0 planets and raising the T Score on their planets kills them and gives negative points for "Helping our planet" and will cause them to declare war on you if you are not already at war with them.

Tips:
Feel free to add your own tips and hints to terraforming to this section by posting them.
- When collecting creatures from one planet to terraform another, the creatures spawn in the same place allowing you get as many as you want quickly. -By Kao_Valin
- When doing lots of terraforming it may be easier to only bring a few of what you need as once you put the creature or plant down you can re-abduct to use on another planet it and it will still count as being on that planet.

Extra:

If you have NOT made it to the Galactic Core, or don't already know whats there and don't want it spoiled DO NOT read any further

Terraforming Guide Th_Staffoflife- Staff of life: You get this from Steve after you reach the Galactic Core, it has 42 uses and can instantly terraform any planet to T3. There is no way to gain anymore uses once you have used them.
